The Owner
Winnie Ng, the owner of Kam Han, has been here since day one — she hasn’t missed a single day in 18 years. Originally from a small village in China, Winnie immigrated to Calgary in search of opportunity. This restaurant became a way to support her family and build something meaningful in a new country. She still travels back to China to visit and celebrate with her family, but Kam Han has always been her second home.
Winnie has joyfully included her family in the exciting journey of running her restaurant, with many of them actively working alongside her! Her amazing husband, Lanny, who been her partner for over 30 incredible years, frequently jumps in to help out whenever he's not busy with his full-time job. This fantastic family teamwork radiates warmth and love, creating a vibrant atmosphere that makes the restaurant feel like a true home away from home for who walks through the door!
We serve both Western-style Chinese food and more traditional dishes — something for everyone. Kam Han is run by a small but mighty team of people who care deeply about what they do. Every dumpling, every sizzling plate, every carefully packed takeout bag is part of a bigger story: one of family, resilience, and pride.
